Oh you guys....You know that the problem in America has been to invite people to your/their church (the place) instead of inviting them to Christ and into the Church -the Christ family.
Only when they find Jesus and are being discipled are they enfolded into the Church (the family of God).
Invite themm to Jesus and to the Church the body of Christ and don't let inviting them to church (the place) keep them from being led to Jesus by you the inviter just might be a great solution.
In other words, inviting the unreached to church remains largely a cop out from our personal responsibility.
Inviting people to church (the place) and not to Jesus and into the Church family is a real problem or hard nut to crack in the established American model. We largely assume inviting them to church (the place) will win them to Christ and enfold them into the Body of Christ.
Let's keep talking about this, While we often point out the answers we very rarely touch on how we will implement this change in the local church -the place where the Church -the Body often hides out on Sunday.
I think my #3 is OK. I have it in the right order with the emphasis still on being in a personal, discipling relationship with the person I'm trying to reach.
I would not invite them to (c)hurch and then assume the (c)hurch will introduce them to Jesus.
But I do think I can invite them to church AND invite them to Jesus -- and take personal responsibility for helping them mature in Christ. Otherwise, I'm just a recruiter trying to fill me "quota" for the month...when I want to be a relationship.

3. Put your self out and invite the unsaved to come to Jesus and the church.
I'm a 2. Since when did Sunday school and a sermon replace discipleship? It's time to get our hands dirty and do some work for the Kingdom!
Amen Mike! One can't come to Jesus without coming to the Church (capital C)in its many and varied expressions.

Pete, you're my kind of kingdom shaker. Keep up the good work and keep the main thing the main thing.
Bless you brother!
