Demons can and cannot...
The written word of God is the Logos...
The revelation of God is the Rhemas...
Did you know that Satan and His cohorts all know the word of God or the Logos?
The problems facing demons is that they cannot understand the revelation of the Scriptures or Rhemas of the Holy Spirit. Demons long to know the truth...or the revealed word of God. But because of their choice to follow Satan, He nor them can ever understand the deep revealed meanings of truth or Holy Spirit Rhemas.
Satan and His cohorts know what the Word of God (Logos) says. They just don't understand the Holy Spirit revealed (Rhemas) meanings.
In a recent experience of mine where demons were cast out of an individual the demon insisted on asking, "Who is the Bride?" They read or heard the word of God and know that there is a Bride. They just cannot figure out who the Bride is. Demons will never understand the Holy Spirit revelation of Truth because they cannot discern the Spiritual things of God.
Demons can know the Word of God (Logos)
Demons will never understand the Word of God (Holy Spirit Rhemas).

The truth of the logos reveals the truth of existence and the ground/foundation of life itself, these things can be distorted and the enemy has done so. The truth of the rhemas, however, are truths of transformation and understanding, that which brings us closer to the Father through the Son spoken by the Spirit. Demons have made their decision, the rhema cannot be had, therefore they cannot distort it- it's like a protection for us from God. The Holy Spirit cannot be mimicked, imitated, or manufactured when it comes to declaring the glory that only He can know and reveal- thank God!
quick question:
i know that demon's cannot understand rhema, but are angels under the same restriction? is because of the nature of their creation, or the nature of their fall that deprives demons of revelation?
Zach, the reason demons cannot understand rhema is because of their fall from heaven. Not knowing truth is their curse. This is why demons hang close to believers -they think they can tag along and get it, truth that is.
If this is true, think about the ramifications in the church.
