NO AXE TO GRIND...

I've spent way to much time grinding away at the American Church and far less time praising God for what He is doing in a movement of making disciples where transformation is a common reality.

I repent. Truly repent. I have been guilty of useless rhetoric.

It's time for a renewed and passionate focus on what God is doing in our midst.

What is God doing in your life these days?

For me, God is chiseling away the sharp edges and so much more.

When God made me, He made a full time job for Himself.

Perhaps tonight and in our future, this blog will carry a different tone. May God help me.

Bob
I know how difficult it is to change one's attitude. I was in the same boat six or seven years ago, but the LORD changed me to accept that He is the one calling people to Him. From that day my focus changed to one providing books for people who really long for the LORD, and to date six books have been written.
My wife used to call me a rebel, but now she actually asks me to write on various subjects that she needs answers for, or for others that she sees on a daily basis.
Blessings on the new way forward.

I say: Amen. And if the focus is on what God is doing in our midst, may we all allow Him to give us something to focus on. Always a challenge for me.

Hello Bob! I have been following your blog since we moved from Kansas City, MO. I often pray for you and the movement that God is going to use to reach those who have just plain give up on God. I read your blogs to track your heart. I believe you have rounded another corner and will begin to get yet another revelation of where God is leading you in the disciples making movement. You did not say what God was doing in your life - but I heard your heart loud and clear! The family and I are doing great. I know you must wonder about us from time to time.Oh, and the new addition to your family is gorgeous.

Good stuff...I only grind when I'm on vacation (i.e. at home). Where you been? An entire week without a post?

Sometimes the deepest shaping of the soul requires silence, solitude, stillness, and simplicity.

Let's give God all the glory for what He alone is doing around the world. At the same time let's not hinder His work wherever you serve and I'll attempt to do the same.

Great to hear from all of you. I'm still pushing ahead with the Disciple Making Movement here in St. Louis. I am continually pressed to give my all to the fulfillment of the Great Commission without the "fluffy" that often clouds the clear uncompromising vision of making disciples who make disciples.

Blessings...

Oh Bob!!! Where was I when you published this post????? Oh, yea,,,,making disciples who will be making disciples :)
I'm so excited about this change...it's the one I have been praying for in our leadership. Many times I wanted to leave because of the grinding....my thouhts were on the line of 'if we are doing what God has called US to do then He will take care of what is going on in the local church'...I've stayed in place because I knew this was where God had placed me...if what the local church is doing is of God it will continue, if not, it will not prevail....hmmm...that sounds sort of Biblical... :)
