Tell me, please...we need to address this!

Tell me what you think about the following statement I made in a previous comment section.

"If you fail to lead believers into full consecration to God you will also fail to lead them into being totally set free."

Set free from what? Examples: Sins we repented from, bondage, Satanic strong holds, generational sins, possession/oppression, open doors that need to be shut, replacing the lies of the enemy with the truth of God, anything that keeps us from being fully consecrated to God.

Jesus came to set the captives free, why then are so many believers still living in bondage from the past and not victorious in the present? Why then are so many professing believers not really free?

Failing to lead a disciple into full consecration is like leading an alcoholic to give up everything BUT bourbon. He may drink an obscene amount of it, but at least he's not drinking the other stuff.
Or like getting a drug addict off of everything EXCEPT cocaine. the victories over LSD, marijuana, and heroine were SO great, we can just leave that one thing there.

DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE HOW RIDICULOUS THIS IS? Lead them all the way, or stop pretending to lead them!

Great line above Zach, "Lead them all the way or don't lead them." Excellent concept. May your tribe increase.

Interesting question…I guess I would have to wonder if we have a poor understanding of repentance in our religious world.

I think the answer is really one of understanding…think about this for a second… Jesus makes a great statement in Mat 11:21

Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. There is our keystone! What is real repentance!

PS Bethsaida means house of fish…not implying anything but interesting chorazin is furnace of smoke!

Jesus makes the statement interesting by adding the phrase in sackcloth and ashes… The Ashes were a sign of deep repentance and humility. They were often included as a further symbol of personal abhorrence and chagrin. The sackcloth was uncomfortable (so they would stay focused)!

Here’s the problem with our repentance process it requires nothing that would make a person look into there lives and truly repent! We are not putting on our sackcloth and ashes!

This is not about a phrase you say to receive forgiveness. An easy process! This is a DNA life change… the real meaning of the word repent (to turn around). What don’t we get about Jesus statement in Mat 7:14 Because* narrow [is] the gate and difficult [is] the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Repentance is the beginning not the end. Now with that as our basis…let’s fill in the blanks with Isaiah 6.

Isa 6;5 Then said I, Woe [is] me! For I am undone; because I [am] a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts. Looks like we have sackclothe and ashes!

Isa 6:6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, [which] he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7: And he laid [it] upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Ok if you don’t get the picture…you might need to go back and discover the pattern.
But here is a little hint. Look for the FIRE! Ex 18 -32, Num 16 plus, Isa 6, Acts 2

Now in Num 16 it gives us a huge hint! You can read it but it’s important that you understand three things…1) they declare themselves Holy! Consecrated (which is our topic) 2) they want the place of the Priest…power to make up the rules. 3) Possessions…they want there stuff! The first is the most critical in regard to this conversation. Why, because the consecration process cannot be accomplished by Men!!!

Your job is to really repent…most of us need to see ourselves, see our sin in and out, and see the sin around us. God promises to do the rest! Notice who cleanses him and don’t miss the fire! If you choose to read on in Numbers, notice the significance of the fire. Moses tried to tell them it was God who validated and consecrated… not men! Did I say Fire!

So here’s the point. The Fire of Acts in the early church and for true disciples of Christ is the sign of your consecration! It’s always been this way from the beginning. From Ex 18, Num 16, Isa 6 to Acts 2.

Here’s the application…if you are simply going to trust in men and their doctrine…and declare yourself Holy (by your little salvation prayer) as Korah did! Rather rejecting the promise from Christ, rejecting the fire from heaven that consecrates you in the Spirit. Then this message applies to you… Mat 11: 22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.

Well put Watchmen!

In our disciple making we do not allow non-commitment! We insist on total consecration. If you are serious about repentance we can lead you into total freedom and Holy Spirit power to stay pure. If not, we do not allow them to waste our time nor do we let them worship with us as if everything is just hunky dory! When you disciple along generational lines you have a whole string of disciples above and below you who are insisting on strong accountability with total consecration to God.

Sounds like the early Church to me.
