Help!

Has anyone been to a Church Planter's Boot Camp? Please tell me how it helped you? Or?

Come on I am serious!

"Straighten up soldier! Suck in that lip! Stick out that hand! C'mon you bunch of pew sitters! Did your Father raise you to just soak in the Son?"

"I'm gonna make planters our of you lowlifes yet. If it kills me -- and you!"

"Have you even been to your neighborhood lately? Except to drive your SUV through it? What a bunch of spiritual pantywaists! What do you think God gave you shoe-leather for?"

LOL....hilarious Mike!

Bob, I went to a Acts 29 church planter bootcamp in St. Louis in the spring of 2005. It was a pretty good bootcamp. I was three years into my plant when I went and my purpose in going was to refresh myself on some of the things I had made mistakes on.

I would recommend bootcamp for planters who are wanting to follow the traditional church planting path. I don't think they would be helpful for someone planting a house church network or other kind of disciple-making movement.

Hi Bob,

This may not be helpful at all but sometimes its good to see what's happening in other parts of the world...

OMS has a church planting "school" here in Mexico City. 18 months of on-the-job-training including studies and pastoral work (in a traditional church planting model) that results in a church being planted and pastors ready to go do it again in the next couple of years. This training was in response to the observation that their seminary was graduating people who knew how to pastor but had no clue how to start a church. It works here but you need to speak Spanish to attend.

Dios te bendiga,
Joel Miller
