When thinking about the American Church...

If the dog is sick and throwing up on the carpet, it is high time to admit that it is sick and needs to see a dog doctor.

Why do we insist that pointing out the stains in the carpet is personally attacking the church. I'm pointing out that that the dog is sick for crying out loud. Some will be offended because I used the dog analogy here. Oh boy!!

I'm part of the Church, I'm in the family. I'm a reformer. I helped make her sick and so did you. Let's stop whining!

Let's admit she is sick and get back on the prescribed program Jesus launched for her.

i'm just glad you didn't use the CAT anology. that would've been bad
;-)

And we do need some voice out there causing us to think more about this stuff. Though I tend to bea bit more optimistic about the condition and future of the church, I like reading your ideas. I also like all the different perspectives we each bring to the discussions. keep 'em coming!

You love the debate and apologetic discussion here, don't you? I love your comments. You are going head to head and toe to toe with the best of them.

David is an atheist hiding out somewhere in the world, who knows where. He hates Americans and Jesus, I believe.

Yes, my good uncle! I do like these discussions. Apologetics is my thing and I love discussing theological types of things! I'm actually studying to hopefully teach theology at the university level some day. Teaching about the wonderful things of Christianity and the long saga that is being played out in the history of the Church are things that I am really passionate about! I love sharing God, even with the hard nosed atheist. In fact, they are the easy ones. It's the pluralistic, morally relative, postmodern that gives me more trouble (and that's like my 3/4s of my generation if not more)! But I'm working on how best to approach that apologetic.

I really do appreciate that you are doing this Uncle Bob. These discussions are helping me to grow spiritually and to really define my faith. And I really do agree with you on most of the stuff you write. Whenever I do write objecting to something I read, I always try to do it with discernment and prayer...that whole "correctly handle the Word of truth" sorta thing. I pray that I represent God well in all that I do.

So, conclusion: hang in there, keep this up. I am really learning a lot. And may God bless your ministry as you seek and discern his will for your life and the lives of those you lead!!
