Political diversion - not division please!
I thought it would be fun to take a few minutes and discuss politics...I was always told not to talk about politics, religion or money. This blog discusses all three. I must be nuts.
Ron Teed of the Christian Network posted this comment, "I believe the best hope of the United States for the future in the form of a mortal human being is Sarah Palin. I have a pretty good track record in evaluating people and I believe Sarah will stand up to any and all unethical behavior. Barak Obama will allow this corruption to go on as long as it serves his need for power and status. John McCain is a good and honorable man and I believe he'll allow Sarah to blaze her own trail."
I do know for sure that Sarah Palin loves Jesus very much. I have heard her testimony and she is an authentic follower of Christ. What about Ron's comments. Let's weigh in here.

I disagree about McCain being honorable. He's an adulterer.
These are my concerns: Sarah Palin has stood strong for the Bars in Alaska. Fighting to allow them to stay open until 5 am even though there is proof of more drunk driving accidents when bars stay open past 1 or 2. Sarah goes far beyond the negative campaigning that John McCain and Obama participate in. Mocks people character and ridicules event he good things they have done.
I have an increasing concern when I read about John McCain's temper. The fellow republicans that fear his effects on diplomatic relations if he get angry with foriegn leaders.
These are my concerns--
OK, let's see...McCain is an adulterer (or at least once was). Palin supports drinking and is a negative campaigner.
Now let's talk about Obama. More than 100 votes of "present" in the Illinois legislature, rather than actually voting (as is his responsibility). Lack of proven administrative leadership. Membership for, I believe, more than 20 years in a racist "Christian" church, under the tutelage of a racist "Christian" pastor. By voting record, the most liberal member of Congress -- even more so than Kennedy or Clinton. Supports abortion, all kinds, even partial birth. Supports gay rights even the "right" to marry.
Scales are tipping here...
McCain/Palin is no dream ticket, don't get me wrong. But Obama/Biden?
Welcome back Mike! Excellent comments here.
here the question that confuses me... George W. Bush is a committed conservative Christian what effect has his faith had on our country?
None of this is really going to make a difference. However, by what everyone is saying King David had poor character as well and he was a man after God's own heart. As far as bars go, there is some individual responsibility and some bar owner responsibility there. It is not the government job to keep everyone safe. Everyone takes a risk every time they go out in the world. God has ultimate control.
Shoot I have skeletons in my closet too.
God will work through whoever gets elected. He will work in spite of ourselves as stated above.
I do not like the fact that Obama has so many connections to some really bad people.
I was excited last even with the Palin/Biden debate. She is sharp and did hold her own with the Big Washington dog. You could always tell when she zinged Biden - He showed his teeth in the smile back.
Sarah Palin is a typical American Christian. She sincerely believes in Jesus, but doesn't have a fully formed biblical worldview. The evidence? She taxed Alaskan oil companies and used the legal plunder to send checks to families in her state. Why does she think it's illegal for individuals to steal, but okay when government does it?
Although I will not personally vote for Obama (I'm going 3rd party) I hope he wins. A leader who promotes the nanny state is what America wants. Let him and a Democratically controlled Congress have at it. They'll bankrupt the country by taxing and spending and that will spell the end of the party of death. Perhaps then the two major parties will consist of neocon Republicans (like McCain) on the one hand and true conservatives on the other.
This election will result in serious economic ramifications. If we have more taxation the economy will further stall out, I believe.
It seems that our government is become more and more corrupt. Is that possible in America?
