Some say....

Some say let's just leave people alone and let the church go as she goes. "As long as lives are being changed (by addition) who cares?" "Do your thing and let us do ours." Why do you try to change us? We don't want to change ."

Does the church in America really want us to leave them to do things their way and not challenge them to consider the fact that God may have a better way? They get defensive. "How could we be wrong and how did we miss it."

Should we just plow ahead or hang out long enough to convince a few?

What a predicament? What would Jesus do? Did He give us an example of what He would do from His life?

Help?

Bob – you don’t need to go any farther than the Sermon on the Mount. This was Jesus’ first documented address to His disciples. Put the Great Commission in your mind and then read this great sermon. It will set you on the path to reform the religious system of today just like Jesus wanted to reform the system of His day. He said – ‘thou shalt not be as the hypocrites’, whom was He talking about?

How about those great catch phrases later on like, “brood of vipers” or “whitewashed sepulchers”? Can anyone think Jesus was kind to those in the religious community that “got it wrong for years”?

One thing we must notice is that His criticism was leveled at the leaders of His day. Someone on a comment on this blog said something about having done it for years with good intentions. No excuse. Once you become aware you are responsible for what you do with the information. Jesus would clearly tell you to follow Him and not the leaders of the church.
