Okay Mike E, are you happy now?

Super Bowl XLI

They really did it, they really did! Chicago was just not in the game. And, before you put all the blame on the quarterback look at the Bear defense! In reference to the Colt victory my friend Chris says, "God did not help them win the game over the Bears." God may have helped them (both teams) in many ways but I'm with Chris, God didn't choose one team over the other. Or did He?

http://www.crackedroundpeg.com for Chris Kozacek's original article on this.

I just got another comment: My friend says God does help certain teams win the game. See picture:

I am ecstatic, Bob! We watched the game with some friends who live in Michigan on a lake, and it was fabulous! Once we got out of the first quarter.

As to whether God helps one team over another -- I would have to say that God does not give a fig which teams wins the Super Bowl. But I believe he DOES care about how the players, winners or losers, conduct themselves before, during, and after the game.

And both Tony and Lovie represented Christ well. And was that the reason both teams made it to the Super Bowl? Can't know. Don't care to know. But I'm glad it happened, however it happened.

Now if we could just do something about those thugs who have overrun my Indiana Pacers. Where, oh where, has the class of Reggie Miller, Mark Jackson, Rik Smits, et. al., gone? Right down the crapper, apparently.

Sigh...

Being from Indy, I'll say that God definitely IS on the side of the Colts. He feels sorry for us after hitting us with below 0-degree windchill for the past two weeks.

And yes, all of the Pacers need fired, right up to the top of the chain.

On another note, I attended my first Rams game here in St. Louis when they played the Bears. The Rams fans sold off their seats to to the Bear company and I felt like a stranger in a foreign land.

And sadly, the Bears beat the crap out of us.

Ram fans let our team down and I was more embarrassed by the lack of fan support than I was in losing the game.

You guys are true "JOCK" supporters!

Bob - if you have not realized by now, you will soon learn, as sports go in St. Louis - you live in Cardinal Nation now. I still find it hard to believe that even when the Rams made it to the Superbowl the lead headline for most stations was the countdown to Spring training. Go Cards!!

I know the S.L. Blues had a poor fan show the other night when they played the Redwings!

My friend Patrick took me to the game and he had front row seats right next to the penalty box. There were bodies slamming into the plexi-glass in front of us right and left. I loved it.

I love the danger of it all. I love adventure! It reminded me of my childhood days when the Carder family ruled the neighborhood and when fighting was a fun thing to do. I know it's hard to believe (maybe not).

One time I took on the neighborhood king in the next neighborhood to ours. His name was Leon and when it was all over I had a distorted face, broken nose, a serious concussion and other sore wounds. My mom was on a trip and when she returned she did not recognize me.

After that fight with Leon I became best of friends and following my conversion I also led him to Jesus.

I don't know why I'm telling you all of this!

My late brother Glenn had a guy share at his funeral who was the Big Bully of school. Glenn was stubborn and when Tyrant Tyree (his real name) got in Glenn's face, Glenn punched him right in the nose. Tyrant said, "of all the guys in Gymn class Glenn was the short one and he stood up to me, from then on I had respect for him." They became the best of friends.

Go blues!

Oh boy did I notice something interesting. Look at the coaches shirt while they are praying. He is wearing a super bowl victory shirt. They are not asking God to help them win, they are praying after the fact. This sheds new light on the subject.

WEll, yeah, Bob. That was the point of the photo. You lovable cur, you.

I still maintain that God does not care who wins, but He does care how the game is played. Tony and the Colts are a class act.

And Carl, dream on soccer-boy! Your futball can't compare to Colts football and Peyton Manning!

Soccer has always struck me as a cross between hockey and kickball. Something little kids play.

The point is, do you really think God blessed this team to win? I never called into question the spiritual depth of this coach and certain players. But, are you also underestimating God's work in the lives of other players on the Bear team. Just because we see evidence of deep faith in the Colts coach and key players does not invalidate the faith of others on the Bear team.

If you, Mike, were on the Bears team you would be offended by this hubbub!

I had to get this discussion fired up and now I think I have done it.

I know the Bears team dropped it, but there must be some on the team who love Jesus as much as you do? Do you really think God cares about football?

Carl, does God really care about Hockey? What does God really care about?

I'm glad the Colts thanked God for whatever, we should all do that.
